About Us

Welcome to The Needlepoint Shoppe—a fresh take on a classic craft.

Our Why

Located in Old Town Midvale, we’re here to shake the dust off needlepoint and make it feel as vibrant, social, and creative as it deserves to be. Yes, we love the heritage. Yes, we respect the tradition. But we also believe needlepoint belongs right now—in your tote bag, on your playlist-filled evenings, at the table with friends, and in the middle of a life that’s anything but old-fashioned.

This venture was born from the idea that stitching should be accessible to everyone—seasoned stitchers, curious beginners, and the “I’ve never tried this but it looks fun” crowd. No gatekeeping. No intimidation. Just beautiful materials, great design, and the freedom to learn as you go.

We’re more than a shop. We’re a gathering place.
A spot to slow down, make something with your hands, meet people who get it, and maybe laugh a little louder than expected over a shared thread color dilemma.

Come in to learn. Stay to connect. Leave with something you made—and a plan to come back.

Because needlepoint isn’t just a craft. It’s a creative ritual, a social outlet, and honestly… a really good time.

Meet Brittany

Brittany White Johnson is an artist at heart, an architect by training, and a firm believer that good design should bring people together.

With a background in art and design, Brittany approaches architecture with the same mindset she brings to any creative practice: pay attention, stay curious, and make things that matter. As the principal and owner of Uncommon Architects, she has built her career around responsive, client-focused service—listening first, designing thoughtfully, and delivering spaces that feel both intentional and alive.

Based in Midvale, her work is rooted in community. Whether shaping a building, collaborating with local partners, or launching The Needlepoint Shoppe, Brittany is driven by the idea that the built environment—and the creative spaces within it—can foster connection, creativity, and belonging.

She believes great projects don’t just solve problems; they contribute something meaningful to the places and people around them. And, just like a good stitching session, the best work happens when craft, collaboration, and a little joy are all part of the process.

Say Hello to Brooke

With 20 years in the real estate space, and as the owner of a successful boutique title company, Brooke has built her career on details, trust, navigating deadlines and contracts, and taking care of people during some of life’s biggest moments.

At home, she is the mom of four kids, who are all getting older and heading in different directions, and she’s found herself stepping into a new season. Long nights of carpool and baseball games after a busy day at the office have slowly transformed into quieter evenings filled with needlepoint, which has quickly become her pause button.

What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into something more: a way to quiet her mind, step away from her phone and computer, and do something creative.  With a background in interior design, she has always been drawn to color, texture, and thoughtfully curated spaces.  Creating this shop feels like bringing all the different pieces of her life together, and she is so excited to create a place where friends can gather, stitch, laugh, and slow down together.
